I grew up with Peter. He was a funny guy and a lot of fun to be around. Pete and his neighbor, Russell Donavan lived on Oliver Street and were always experimenting with cars and we had such a good time driving around Castles in one of those beat-up jalopys! RIP Peter.

Peter was a good friend.  He operated in his own orbit.  I consider myself lucky that he let me in for a peek now and then.  Typical of Peter - he found my number and called me out of the blue about two years ago.  We talked every few weeks.  Because of "Agent Orange" health issues - he was declared 100% disabled by the VA about a year ago.  He and I were stationed about a mile apart during our Army hitch in Vietnam (1970).  Paul DeLange was in that neighborhood about the same time.  Haven't seen him since he moved to Florida sometime after we took a canoe trip in the Adirondacks - where his sister, Marcia, lived with her husband.  Late 70's.  I'll miss those late night phone calls.  Happy Trails, my friend.  =HN=

Peter was an absolute hoot. He once built a hydroplane out of plywood, plunked a motor on the back and asked me to help him put it in the canal for its maiden voyage...it sunk immediately upon takeoff. He had an old (early 50s) 4-door Chevy that he named "Sleeper"...that car required as much oil as gas to run. His house was different than mine was for sure, and I got a charge out of his parents, siblings and all the stuff going on there. Hank and I knew him best, and we've shared stories many times. He visited me in college and we both served in Vietnam, but I hadn't seen Peter since the early 1980s. Vivid memories remain...RIP, Paul DeLange
