Bob was truly a great human being. He was always so positive and appreciated everything anyone did for him. He loved LSHS and Niagara University. When I was coaching at NU , I would give him NU clothing and trinkets and he was always so appreciative. RIP Bobby

Bobby Sprung

Jul 14, 1947 - May 20, 2016

Bobby Sprung passed away May 20, 2016 in Absolut of Gasport. Born in Lockport on July 14, 1947 he was the son of William H. and Theresa (Adams) Sprung. Bobby earned his bachelor's degree from Niagara University and worked for the Niagara County Treasurers Office where he was the Payroll Clerk. He was a member of the Kawanis Club and manager of the NU Basketball team of which he was an avid fan of as well as the NY Yankee and Buffalo Bills.

Bobby was the step father of Francis Gritzmacher and the late Albert Gritzmacher; former husband of the late Browin "Browny" Sprung; brother of the William R. Sprung and brother-in-law of Carol Sprung; also survived by several cousins and close friends.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, May 26th from 3-4 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where services will follow at 4 PM. Visit pruddenandkandt.com.

I didn't see the newspaper article about Bobby until last night (25 May) and I said, "Oh no! Not Bobby! :( " I agree with all the other memory statements. Bobby WAS a truly special person, kind, thoughtful, courtly, with a special smile for everyone. I'm so sorry that he will not be at the 50th, and along with all of our other In Memoriam classmates, he will be greatly missed!
