David was my next door neighbor.  He was a unique guy and friend. Our families vacationed together many times and we always enjoyed the Morotchies.

A nice picture of Dave in his Cub Scout uniform in the link to the Belknap Beacon from 1957. He was a classmate of mine from elementary school through high school.

Dave was a really good guy who fell on tough times. He never deserved the life he led. I especially remember stopping at his house as we walked home from Emmet in 9th grade. May he RIP

I, too, was deeply saddened to learn yesterday of Mootch's untimely passing in 2013---I'm even more troubled now by Bill's comments, below, that life wasn't very kind to a truly nice guy who was lots of fun to be around. As many of us will recall, Dave's sister, Jolene, graduated a year ahead of us at LSHS---my sincerest condolences go out to the entire Morotchie family.

Dave Morotchie could dance like nobody else. I can still see him doing the "mashed potato and the locomotion, in the Belknap gym at lunch time, although Bob Lehman gave him a run for his money! Dave was a really good guy. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. RIP, friend.

A great friend. He left us way to early. He will be remembered always.
